Grandparents can be an essential part of a young child's life. There are a variety of ways that grandparents are involved with grandchildren. Sometimes a grandparent fills the role of a primary caregiver. Other times, grandparents are available as an extra support system in addition to parents. This summer, I attended the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah, and had a fabulous time! I tried to prepare by reading the shortened versions of the plays in Tales from Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb. Watching the plays under the stars, feeling the warm summer air in the Engelstad Theater—a re-creation of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London—was magical. Every month we have two book clubs for kids here at the Provo City Library! These book clubs are just for kids ages 9-12 and a caregiver.
