Grandparents can be an essential part of a young child's life. There are a variety of ways that grandparents are involved with grandchildren. Sometimes a grandparent fills the role of a primary caregiver. Other times, grandparents are available as an extra support system in addition to parents. There is a special kind of happiness that can be found in the presence of a grandparent. I loved the young boy in this book felt comfortable enough in his grandmother's company to creatively use his imagination. It is one of my favorite things when adults help children foster that unique childhood aspect to their personalities.

I adore the relationship of a young girl and her grandmother in this book. As they go on adventures to try and cross items off of their bucket lists, you can feel them growing closer to one another. I loved that there is a feeling of joy and companionship that is truly special between a grandparent and grandchild.
