Incredibly Fast and Not At All Fun

Written and Illustrated by Tadgh Bentley

New York: Atheneum Books for Young Readers, 2026. Picture Book.

If you are in the mood to read a humorous book, this is the story for you. Incredibly Fast and Not at all Fun is a hilarious story about a bear who accidentally creates a super-fast roller coaster called the Honey Runner. Bear built it to help him get to his beehives faster, but the ride turns out to be way more exciting than he had expected! Bear thinks the roller coaster is loud, scary, and definitely not fun at all, but all the other animals love it. They keep asking to ride it again and again and bear can't think of a way to make them stop. He tries everything but despite all of his attempts it becomes more and more popular.

This book is packed with silly humor, funny animal characters, and some exciting roller coaster action. The funnest part is watching bear as he tries to figure out why everyone likes this ride so much. The illustrations really add to the story and make it even more enjoyable. An amusing book that shows how something created by accident can become something that everyone enjoys. This book is definately worth checking out!

Last One Picked By Audrey Meeker New York: Feiwel & Friends, 2026. Comic.  Annabeth has never been very athletic, but that doesn't matter. She is perfectly content to spend her time with her Warrior Princess books and volunteering at the library. When summer comes, her mom is convinced by their stuck up neighbor to send Annabeth to volleyball camp, the last place she would ever want to be. Not only does she feel completely out of her depth, her ex-best friend, Serena, is there- and she is not happy that Annabeth is infringing on her domain. However, with the help of some encouraging coaches and teammates, Annabeth slowly starts to realize that she doesn't mind volleyball so much, and might even have a place on the team after all. This graphic novel will hit home for many tweens, especially as it deals with several relevant topics, such as body image, gaining confidence, and how we should treat others. The illustrations were bright and colorful, and the story itself ...
