As someone who grew up reading and reciting Shel Silverstein poems, I am always on the hunt for children's poetry compilations that are just as silly and well-written. I was pleased by the immediate Silverstein vibes from these poems. This book of poetry lives up to it's name with poems of dramatic tales and whimsical characters. I would recommend "A Rope Made of Soap" where the rhymes are the only thing that make any sort of sense and "The Beast in the Cave" where a beast's beard grows too much for him to do anything. The illustrations are the perfect pair to the laugh-out-loud verses.
