Splat the cat is an amusing cat who has many adventures and in this new endearing book Splat and the New Baby, Splat can't wait to become a big brother. It's assumed at the beginning of the book that when mom tells Splat that he is going to be a big brother that it will be a kitten but that's where the surprise comes in. Splat and the reader are astonished when the new baby is revealed but even though Splat has some reservations about the new baby he is still ready to prove he can be the best brother ever. This book is the perfect read aloud for a family who is expecting a new change, from a new baby, to adoption, to babysitting.
