Max is an expert shopper since his mom takes him to the grocery store All. The. Time. He teaches the reader how to possibly get out of the task like substituting water instead milk for cereal, faking toe injuries so there is no possible way to walk the long aisles, but when essentials like toilet paper run out there is no escape. But never fear there is a plan! Make sure to pick your favorite cereal before you mom chooses the healthy ones, always be on the look out for free food samples (everything tastes better on a toothpick) and remind your mom of important holidays so you can get a tasty frosted treat from the bakery. Oh, and donā€™t forget to grab a bag of pet food even though you do not own one; itā€™s just one step closer to getting one.

This humorous and relatable story might make the next trip to the grocery store a little bit more fun. Being the first in a new series, I canā€™t wait to see what else Max is an expert at!

You Need to Read: Percy Jackson

I was a kid myself when  The Lightning Thief  by Rick Riordan was published, and it didn't take long for the Percy Jackson series to take the world by storm. Being the son of a Poseidon, Percy Jackson has some unique challenges as a half-blood. Here's some books that I think could've helped Percy when he was on his adventures trying to save the world: Greeking Out: Heroes and Olympians Written by Kenny Curtis and Jillian Hughes Illustrated by Javier Espila Washington D.C.: National Geographic, 2024. Informational. 191 pages. Percy, I know Chiron did a good job teaching you about mythology in Latin class, but this book is sure to be good to have on hand while you're traveling across the United States. Greeking Out  is written in a kid-friendly voice with vivid illustrations and a sometimes-snarky tone (much like Percy himself).
