Fine has composed a love song to the coming of night.  Each stanza, written in rhyme, is short and has a restful meter. "Daylight's fading./Stars grow bright./Darkness glowing./Velvet night." The large font text is printed in pale yellow on full page illustrations.  Denise's pictures play with the contrast of small lights in a dark world; fireflies, stars, light from a window.  They are done in comfortable blues, greens, yellows and browns, and are beautifully composed. The effect of the illustrations and text together is lovely and restful. This is a great choice for someone looking for a new bedtime book.

Hello world! I know you have been anticipating the release of this list all year... my favorite easy readers! Whether they're funny or sweet, these titles are all great for kids taking their first steps for reading. So without further ado...here are my five favorite easy readers of 2024.
