In Bramble and Maggie's second book, horse and girl continue to learn the art of friendship and compromise. Maggie has to learn that she is not always the boss, and Bramble has to learn to let Maggie take the lead every now and then. Bramble and Maggie enjoy riding, and one of the best stories in this short chapter book is when they go to the beach. The art is pretty and refreshing. In the end, the twosome add a neighborhood hen to their little family, and again learn how to attend to another's needs and wants. Another wholesome, gentle book for horse lovers!
