Summer Camp Science Mysteries continue to teach basic science principles with a fun graphic novel mystery. There are some of our old friends from previous adventures as well as some new. This mystery focuses on gravity and its effects on everything from the human body to a ballpoint pen to a cuckoo clock that is now missing from the wall of the camp mess hall. The kids notice the missing timepiece and get busy trying to find out what really happened. Their investigation leads to a gravity-challenged baton and a naughty camper. These graphic novels are a great way for kids 2nd grade and  up to learn about science and its practical applications in their daily lives. The graphic novel format makes it accessible to kids with varying learning abilities as well as reluctant readers who would never pick up a typical science book.

When I finish a good fantasy book, I always ask myself why I don't read more of them! This book made me ask myself that exact question. Lavender is a young girl who is struggling after the death of her mother. Her father doesn't like talking about the family's loss, and Lavender feels very alone in knowing how to grieve and cope with her feelings.
