FIve Faves: Santa Books

One of the best things about Christmas is sitting by the fire or under a cozy blanket and reading stories together. If you love books about Santa and are looking for some new titles to check-out  and read, this list will help you bring home some holiday cheer.

It's Christmas Eve and Santa is out delivering gifts to children around the world. At one house a child wakes up to find Santa putting out gifts and the child begins peppering Santa with questions and showing him around the house. Soon it's time for Santa to leave so the child joins Santa in his sleigh and they make his rounds together delivering gifts and then heading back to the north pole.

The illustrations have a very wintery feel with lots of blue color and soft lines that give the book a dream like feel. A holiday book that is full of the magic and wonder of Christmas.

Christmas Eve is the busiest day of the year for Santa so you would think he would relax and rest on Christmas day, but he never takes a break.  Christmas day is back to business as usual for Santa. He might sleep in for a short 30 minutes and then he is up and back to work making toys for next year. This year however, is going to be different. This year the elves have decided that Santa needs to relax and enjoy having a real Christmas experience. They cut down a tree, string lights, make cookies, and have a holiday feast together.

This book feels like a holiday classic that will be read and enjoyed for many years to come. Pick up this cozy sweet read and join Santa for his first Christmas celebration.

A young girl has been on a quest to see Santa for five years, but every time she tries staying up on Christmas Eve to wait for Santa she falls asleep. So, she decides that this year she is going to try something different. Instead of waiting up for Santa to come to her she is going to go and find Santa in the city. When she gets to the city she is surprised to find several Santa's there. She has her work cut out for her as she goes around meeting each one and trying to find the real Santa. But as she talks to the different Santa's she can't seem to find the one that feels right, smells right, or sounds right. Discouraged, she heads home. But in the morning when she wakes up, she is thrilled because Santa has come to her home and everything feels just right.

A sweet little story told from a child's perspective about going on an adventure to visit Santa and experiencing everything through senses and feelings.

A man with a white beard and wearing a red suit enters a store and he is immediately asked if he is Santa. The man denies it but the child points out that he does look a lot like Santa. The child even compliments the man on his "sleigh" which is a red truck. When the child follows the man home to "N. Pole Drive" and begins to question him about some nearby reindeer, the man again denies being Santa Claus. Is he really Not Santa Claus? You will have to read the book to find out for yourself if he is or isn't.

A humorous story with a fun little twist on Christmas that kids will enjoy reading.

I love that holidays look different for different families, but so many families have special foods they eat during the holidays.
