Ice Cream Soup

This is the story of a little boy who does what little boys do best: he makes messes! With several scoops of ice cream and all kinds of colorful sprinkles, he cooks up a doozy of an ice cream "cake." With the addition of gummy bears, chocolate syrup, and cookies, the creation quickly turns into a mess. The sticky boy decides that it is better off being called "ice cream soup!" While I appreciate the sweet (ha!) illustrations, the writing doesn't suit. The rhyming sentences are really unbalanced, which might prove to be a struggle for emerging readers.
