Baabwaa & Wooliam
By David Elliott
Candlewick, 2017. Picture book.
Baawaa loves to knit and Wooliam loves to read. But the two sheep realize that their lives are a bit boring, so they set out to find adventure. They meet a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing with terrible teeth who proceeds to chase them, but stops when he finds out the shocking news that he features in many stories. Baabwaa and Wooliam decide to take Mr. Wolf in hand, teaching him how to read (and how to brush) and he repays them by not trying to eat them anymore (most of the time).
A clever story with tongue-in-cheek humor. “A tale of literacy, dental hygiene, and friendship.”
