Rufus the Writer
By Elizabeth Bram
Schwartz & Wade, 2015. Picture book.
On a fine summer day, Rufus decides that instead of having a lemonade stand, he is going to have a story stand. The local neighborhood kids trade various treasures, such as a shell from the beach, in exchange for a personalized story from Rufus.
These short and silly mini stories, each with its own visual style, are included within the larger story, making this book a really fun collection of writing examples for young children. The illustrations are vibrant and Rufus’ creativity will be sure to encourage readers to find their own.
