Can I Tell You a Secret?

A young frog (named Monty) sits at the side of a pond watching other frogs swim and dive. There is even a lifeguard frog on duty. But Monty has a secret that he wants to tell the readers. The secret is that he is afraid of the water. With help from the readers Monty is encouraged to go and tell his parents. And of course that is easier said than done.
With fears being something that many youngsters have to face, this is a good book to encourage little ones to face those frightening situations with the help of trusted grownups. The “interaction” between the reader and Monty is fun and might work best with some encouragement from adults to help kiddos respond. But all in all this is a delightful story with a great ending for young Monty…who may or may not still be afraid of the water.
