Have you ever really, really wanted a pet? Well, the mice in this book do. I Wish I had a Pet reads like  a non-fiction informational book about pets--but because it is mice that are looking for the perfect pet, a whole different set of problems arise. Mice are small, so the kinds of pets they can adopt are somewhat limited. Rudy has created her story with adorably realistic mice and animal dolls which are then photographed, giving the book even more of a non-fiction book illusion. A not-to-be-missed treat.

Faces of the Moon by Bob Crelin Illustrated by Leslie Evans Charlesburg; 2009; unpaged Faces of the Moon is a short nonfiction book that describes the different phases of the moon and why the moon appears like it does on certain nights. This book is short and sweet so even the youngest of moon lovers will enjoy it. The layout is simplistic and easy to follow. I don’t know much about the moon so I found it very interesting.
