by Anna Claybourne
QEB Publishing, 2014. Nonfiction. 32 p.
Summer is the time when science is just for fun. This entertaining book gives interesting facts about the brain, nervous system and the senses. There are diagrams showing which parts of the brain perform which function, and how nerves work. There are also suggestions for experiments kids can perform to find out cool things about their own nervous system like their reaction time or whether they are right or left brained. The writing is informal, but contains solid information. Bright and colorful illustrations and diagrams add interest and energy. This is a great STEM title for middle grade readers.
