A little mouse named Luke is having a birthday and he is
very excited about all of the presents he will receive. He is disappointed when
his wise, old grandfather gives him a bag of seeds. However, his grandfather
makes him a promise that if he takes care of his present it will grow into
something to climb in and something to eat. Luke runs to the planted seeds the
next morning hoping to find the seeds grown. His grandfather takes the
opportunity to teach Luke about patience. As the story progresses Luke learns more
about patience and responsibility and is eventually rewarded. Full of beautiful
illustrations and cute little mice, Luke & the Little Seed is a good choice
to teach about patience and responsibility to children ages 3-6.
