A small caper is angry that kids don't like his "earthy and acidic" flavor. Never mind that adults seem to find him delicious, it is the hordes of children he wants to please. If only he were as sweet and desirable as Lollipop! Disguised as an innocent pea, Caper infiltrates the Lollipop factory to carry out a diabolical plan to become more popular than Lollipop! As the new and improved treats are distributed throughout the world the results are not quite what Caper had hoped for. As his carefully laid plans spiral out of control he has no choice but to join forces with his enemy, Lollipop. Together they make everything right and Caper realizes being favored by adults isn't so terrible after all.
An entertaining story paired with fabulously fun illustrations make for a laugh-out-loud read for all ages.

When I finish a good fantasy book, I always ask myself why I don't read more of them! This book made me ask myself that exact question. Lavender is a young girl who is struggling after the death of her mother. Her father doesn't like talking about the family's loss, and Lavender feels very alone in knowing how to grieve and cope with her feelings. Making the grieving process even harder for Lavender is the fact that she is struggling to hold on to memories of her mother.  The family runs an apothecary shop where Lavender is an apprentice.
