Penny and Her Marble
By Kevin Henkes
Greenwillow Books, 2013. 48 pgs. Easy Reader.
Penny is out for a walk with her doll, Rose, when she spots a beautiful blue marble in her neighbor's yard. She picks it up, puts it in her pocket, and takes it home. It's so fun to look at and play with, but Penny's conscience begins to bother her and she wonders if perhaps she should have left it in the yard.
Kevin Henkes, as always, does a lovely job of writing and illustrating a simple story perfect for a new reader. This one's another winner in the Penny series!
