Truck Buddies features adorable cartoon truck characters who tell a story about friendship, emotions and hard work. There is a challenge issued on the first page: to find the little skunk every time you turn the page! It is a perfect beginning-level book, with short sentences, word repetition, and very easy vocabulary. Author/illustrator duo Melinda Melton Crow and Ronnie Rooney have produced a simple, yet fun, set of first-step easy readers. Fans of John Scieska's Trucktown series, or even Thomas the Tank Engine, will eat these up.

Faces of the Moon by Bob Crelin Illustrated by Leslie Evans Charlesburg; 2009; unpaged Faces of the Moon is a short nonfiction book that describes the different phases of the moon and why the moon appears like it does on certain nights. This book is short and sweet so even the youngest of moon lovers will enjoy it. The layout is simplistic and easy to follow. I don’t know much about the moon so I found it very interesting.
