Monkey is happy being just a little brother. He is not ready to be a big brother and have a baby in the house. It seems like he sees and hears babies everywhere. Mom, Dad, and his big brother try to help him understand how to get ready for the new baby. Will Monkey be able to show the new baby the love that new babies need?

Marc Brown, creator of the beloved Arthur series, adds this second book to his Monkey series. The simple words and illustrations are endearing and suggest that Monkey designed this book himself using crayons or colored pencils. Children in Monkey’s situation will easily relate to the mix of emotions that Monkey experiences. A good choice for children who will soon be older siblings and might not quite be ready yet.
