What is at the end of a rainbow? An adventurous girl and her cat go on a quest to find out. Along the way they are joined by a rabbit, a bird, and other forest creatures. Each has its own idea of what might be at the end of the rainbow. When they finally arrive, they find the greatest treasure of all. Here is a tale for the youngest readers. The text is short, with only a few words per page. The words are mostly common sight words, and many are repeated as the heroine meets each new friend. Klein’s rhyming text supports the photographs of the hundreds of artists and volunteers and their artwork as they bring the messages of peace, hope, love, and that by being united they can make a difference. A great book to show children how a community rallied to make a positive change and that even a small gesture can make a huge difference. A great discussion opener on how we should treat each other.
