From Divya Srinivasan (Little Owl's Night) comes this magical under-the-sea story about a sweet creature named Octopus. Octopus is a homebody, but when curious seahorses entice her out of her cave, she experiences the adventures of the open ocean. After encountering many, many new friends- including hungry eels and shimmering jellyfish- Octopus is thrilled to find herself alone again. She wiggles and twirls with happiness, only to feel a rumbling from the dark waters below...! More adventure awaits her with the thundering arrival of a whale. Octopus crashes about in the bubbles left in the whale's wake, then later swims home to her cozy little cave to rest. Srinivasan's striking artwork is wonderful; she has a gift for colors and light, creating a beautiful world of discovery. Overall, a fun picture book about venturing out into the unknown.
