When Luna spends the day with her grandmother, she's introduced to the Korean word "jeong." but is intially confused by it's meaning. Grandmother tells her they'll find jeong during their day. Everytime Luna helps those around her and shows love and consideration, Grandmother tells her that is jeong. While there may not be a direct translation of the word, Luna (and readers!) learn that it shows up in love, connection, caring, community, and family.
I loved the sweetness of this tale that spanned generations and languages. I love a cozy picture book, and this one is oh so cozy. The love between Luna and her family is palpable, and the soft pastel illustrations illustrate both the love and coziness of the story.
