We all love a heartwarming dog tale, but pug stories are just that much cuter. Maybe it's the scrunched-up snout or the curlicue tail. My favorite thing about pug characters in Intermediate books, is how much personality is packed into those little doggies. Try checking out these small pug chapter books to get your cute, spunky dog fix!

Pug woke up expecting one thing: jam tarts for breakfast. He is perfectly happy to lick up Lady Miranda's crumbs and stay home. However, Lady Miranda has a boating birthday party to go do and instead of having the breakfast of his dreams, he is whisked to face one of his biggest fears: water. This is an easier Intermediate book that only has several sentence per page. Pug is a fun and quirky pup who is completely doted on by his sophisticated human.

Having a little sister is hard sometimes. Sunny, the pug, is used to peace and quiet, but when her human brings home Rosy, a rambunctious, enthusiastic puppy, the worst happens. Rosy takes Sunny's favorite toy and loses it! To make things right with her big sister, Rosy leaves home in search of the toy. Sunny feels the weight of the responsibility of a big sister, and journeys out to find her sister and her toy. I loved this sweet, simple, story of sisterhood.

Baron von Bubbles, referred to affectionally as Bub, pours out his heart in his diary. All he wants is to help his human, Bella, with her school project. She plans to build a rocket for the Inventor Challenge and Bub, though he has his apprehensions, tries his best to be useful. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan. Bub is, after all, a dog. This charming narrative is told in diary format and combines the cuteness of a pug with a fun lesson or two.
